Windsurfing: Shoreham Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: F5 Surf / Sea State: Waist high Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Sailed Shoreham from about 3pm. Started on RRD 84lt wave board and 5m.
Changed to bigger RWW83 to try and get planing sooner over the tidal flow.
It was like glue heading east then instant planing without moving when
coming back to the west!! Challenging but occasionally annoying when your
rail glued in on a turn, and there was no hope of planing on a downwind
wave turn! The bigger board was probably worse, maybe more width to stick
down. But stuck it out as the wind turned and eased. So rigged bigger to
5.5m on smaller waveboard and was much happier! Bit more oomph to whack a
few good sized swell lumps. Got better as the tide dropped out with sweet
hop ramps and little peaks for upwind 'riding'.
